Devaney Latino

Title
Executive Assistant, Office of the President

Devaney Latino graduated from NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development with a double major in Applied Psychology and Global Public Health, along with a minor in Environmental Studies. Early on in her education, she saw the intersectional relationship between human health, the health of more-than-human life, and the health of our planet. Her primary focus has been on food security, particularly improving urban communities'—namely children's—access to fresh, local, and culturally appropriate food. She also advocates for increasing access to green spaces in these communities.

Devaney has worked with several non-profit organizations, including The Horticultural Society of New York, the Center for Good Food Purchasing, and GrowNYC. She also contributed to the Eating Matters Podcast, which explores the impact of food systems on health, labor, and sustainability.

At Waverley Street Foundation, Devaney serves as the Executive Assistant to the Office of the President. She is proud to work for an organization that so clearly upholds her values and priorities, supporting initiatives that align with her passion for environmental stewardship and community empowerment.
