Kate Lombardo

Title
Program Associate

Kate Lombardo is an Associate at the Waverley Street Foundation, where she works at the intersection of climate change, human rights, and public policy. Her work with frontline communities in the Global South has fueled her commitment to prioritizing the voices of those most affected by climate change—particularly women and youth—in critical climate discussions.

Before joining Waverley, Kate contributed to climate grantmaking and impact investments as an Associate at King Philanthropies, where she supported initiatives on clean water, renewable energy, ecosystem preservation, land rights, and nutritious food systems. Prior to King Philanthropies, Kate worked on climate adaptation and resilience in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Policy, the University of Cambridge Faculty of Law, the Stimson Center’s Environmental Security Program, and the State Department’s Bureaus of Conflict and Stabilization Operations and International Organization Affairs.

Kate received her Master’s of Philosophy in Environmental Policy from the University of Cambridge, her B.A. in Political Science, Public Policy, and Human Rights from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Certificate in International Affairs from Sciences Po. In her free time, she loves reading, cooking, hiking, and spending time with her (wild) new puppy, Olive.
